A house of time, but we think this 1970s five-bedroom property in Birmingham, West Midlands could be something special with a bit of work.

A quick glance at the image suggests it does need work though, with the carpets, decor and bathroom looking to have outlived their use. But it’s not all bad news. A distinctive, one-off architect design and in excess of 3,500 square feet of space, with plenty of open plan living space on the ground floor. We also like one or two of the period features too, like the stairs and the breakfast bar for example, which could be re-purposed, although we’re not sure how practical the former will be in the modern era.

In terms of current space, an entrance hall leads to a study/bedroom, a cloakroom, an L-shaped lounge (where you’ll find the open plan staircase), a bar area, a dining room, kitchen, sun room and WC. Head up the stairs and you’ll find a landing, leading to a master bedroom with en-suite bathroom, three further double bedrooms, family bathroom and WC.
