Not the cheapest house on the market by any means, but this five-bedroomed art deco property on Putney Heath, London SW15 is certainly one of the more eye-catching.
The agent’s details give pretty much nothing away about its heritage, but it looks original to us, even though the inside of the house has been heavily modernised. Not really overdone, just brought up to date, with the ‘feel’ of the property, as well as its structure, windows and doors all faithful to what we imagined was there originally. There’s even a spiral staircase, which is always a plus point.
Described as having an ‘enviable location by the tranquil green spaces of Putney Heath’, the house has both landscaped gardens, a double garage and off-road parking outside (which we suspect is a bonus for the area) and plenty of space inside, not to mention an open plan or ‘airy’ feel to the place. That’ll be all those white walls.
Anyway, once inside, you’ll find an entrance hall with that feature spiral staircase, a very large reception room, an equally spacious kitchen/dining room, a master bedroom with fitted wardrobes, four additional bedrooms, three bathrooms, a second kitchen, two utility rooms, a guest cloakroom and extensive storage space. All of that on a road that’s apparently a ‘pretty tree-lined cul-de-sac’.
It all sounds pretty much perfect. Sadly, perfection comes at a price. And this price is around the £2,200,000 mark. But if you get a windfall…well…it’s one to consider.
