In need of renovation: The White House 1930s art deco property in Skerries, Co. Dublin, Ireland
Thanks to Clive Kelly for flagging up an interesting little place in need of a lot of work – The White House 1930s art deco property in Skerries, Co. Dublin, Ireland.
It needs some help bringing it back to its best, that’s for sure. But on the plus side, the house seems largely unchanged over the years. Everything from the shape to the outside garden wall, the front door, even the chimney looks like it still is as intended.
That’s the good part. The bad bit is the condition right now. Modern central heating indicates that the place has been lived in of late, but the condition of the inside isn’t going to sell the house. But that heating aside, it still look fairly original inside, with mention of original art deco cornices throughout. This is just a house in need of some love.
But this place does have a roof terrace with sea views, which is definitely a plus. There’s also an entrance hall with guest WC and understairs storage, along with a living room, connecting family room and dining room (which also has access to the rear garden), a kitchen with access to the side garden, four bedrooms, a shower room and a separate WC. Gardens front back and side too.
If you want it, the price is €495,000.
