1930s art deco apartment in Kingfisher Court, East Molesey, Surrey
Spotted one here back in 2017. Now there is another 1930s art deco apartment in Kingfisher Court, East Molesey, Surrey on the market.
Details are very limited in the listing, but thankfully I do know a thing or two about the building. As it says above, the building dates back to the 1930s, the word of Guy Morgan and now grade II-listed. Most of the apartments were on long-term rental, with sales only starting in the 1970s, with this being the most recent to market.
The design of the building is incredibly striking, not least with that rooftop canopy, which intends to replicate the deck of a large cruise ship. Yes, very much of its era.
The architecture is the selling point here for me, but that’s not quite all there is to offer. Saying that, don’t expect much in the way of original features inside the apartment itself.
Like the last one I featured, this has had a complete makeover inside. Not that there’s anything wrong with inside, but if you want originality, you probably need to look elsewhere.
Clean and contemporary is probably a fair description of the apartment, everything very organised and making good use of the space within.
Talking of space, the heart of this one is the sitting room, with a dining room off it. Beyond that are the two bedrooms, the bathroom and at the far end, the kitchen area.
That’s not quite all as the apartment also has well-maintained communal gardens leading onto the river plus access to the tennis courts and a swimming pool. This top-floor apartment also has an allocated parking space too, with Hampton Court Mainline Station just a short walk away.
If all of that appeals, £470,000 is the guide price.
