1970s-inspired hanging lamp cluster at La Redoute

You don’t need to buy vintage to get a vintage look. This 1970s-inspired hanging lamp cluster at La Redoute is just a click away.

That’s not surprising, as La Redoute, despite being something of a mainstream retailer, it does have a habit of producing some really interesting retro and vintage designs. I did a round-up of their 1970s-style table lamps over at my Retro To Go site recently.
And the 1970s seem to be something of an inspiration right now, which I’m very much here for. 1970s lights in their original form are starting to command high prices, and many need the internal electrics checked out, even if you can find one for reasonable money.

So something like the Merisa here is perfect. It has the statement 1970s look you will struggle to find new, with the bonus that it has all-new inner workings as well.

The fitting is a box of opaline glass and chrome-finished metal, producing what is described as a ‘soft, subdued light’ for atmosphere and attention. It will look like a treat on a staircase or anywhere with a reasonably high ceiling.

The design, which is exclusive to La Redoute, has five shades and fitted power cables covered in cotton fabric. But you do need to provide your own bulbs.
The price is £239.99, but there is a 30 per cent off code on the retailer’s site to bring it down quite a bit more.
