Credit to Stefi Orazi for spotting this one, which dates back to 1962 and is one of four modernist designs that make up the mini development. Likely to have been quite a desirable place to live back in the day too. In fact, it still is.

This is on the end of the block and the largest of the four on account of it being extended. That also indicates that the house isn’t quite the same as it was back in the early 1960s.

Saying that the house does still have its 1960s modernist vibe thanks to a number of details being preserved. From the outside, it still has the look and before you head in you might notice the distinctive, copper-covered hyperbolic parabolic roof, which offers some clerestory lighting within.

Once inside, it’s a mix of the old and the new. The open space, the staircase, the windows, the doors, the exposed brick and the wood-clad ceilings are all reminders of the past. But due to updating and extending, not everything keeps the 1960s look and feel.

The kitchen area looks recent, the bedrooms look freshly-renovated and to be honest, a lot of the floor space looks to have been freshened up in the recent past. As you would expect really.

But this is still an interesting house with character still in place and with some fixtures and fittings of its original era should be quite an eye-catching and cool place to live.

Talking of living space, you get in excess of 1,300 square feet. According to the agent’s details, the house includes an entrance porch, a cloakroom/WC, a 20ft living room, a 20ft dining kitchen and a sunroom on the ground floor.

Head upstairs past the first-floor landing and there are three bedrooms and a bathroom. Note also that part of the ground floor has been converted into a separate studio, which, according to the agent, offers ‘an abundance of possibilities’ and could be incorporated back into the original house if that works better for you.

The house also has lawned front gardens, a private south-facing rear courtyard plus a garage and a parking area.
