As we mentioned back then, these houses were designed by Goldfinger for teachers at the nearby Wellesley House preparatory school around 1952. Modest houses with a modernist slant and still looking pretty contemporary over 60 years on. But with a little more character than your average new build.

That’s provided by the butterfly roof, picture windows to the front and rear elevations and a mix of flint and brick for the frontage.

Inside is perhaps a little more 21st century than you might expect. You get the light from those picture windows and what looks to be the original layout. But overall, this looks well maintained and very much of this era than a previous one. That’s not a complaint, just an observation.

As for the layout, the house has three bedrooms, a cloakroom and a shower room on the first floor, with a ground floor offering a dining hall, substantial lounge, study room and a kitchen plus utility.
