Span House for sale: 1960s modernist property on the Templemere Estate, Weybridge, Surrey
Thanks to Nick for letting us know about this 1960s Span House on the Templemere Estate, Weybridge, Surrey.
It’s actually Nick’s house, sent in response to the renovation project on the same estate featured a couple of weeks back. Basically, if you want to see the potential in the renovation, have a look at this one.
The Span House here is pretty much immaculate after 18 months of refurbishment. Dating back to 1963 (like the rest of the estate), the house here has the distinctive, heavy glazed design that’s a trademark of this estate and a design that makes houses here so desirable. Another bonus of this one is that it’s a rarely available four-bedroom house. So if you need that extra space read on.
So much to appreciate here. The architecture itself of course, but also the original wood flooring in the living room, those floor to ceiling windows, the clever-designed kitchen area, the stylish ‘retro modern’ finish throughout and of course, all of that communal space. We’ll go back to that in a moment.
For now, let’s do a recap of the space, with the ground floor featuring the large sitting room with separate dining area, the modern fitted kitchen and WC. Head upstairs and you will find four good size, double bedrooms and the family bathroom.
The property has a secluded rear garden, which was apparently designed by award winning landscapers, along with access to one of two garages belonging to the property.
If you want more, you can take in the communal gardens of Templemere, with large open spaces leading to ‘acres’ of historical woodland. There’s also a frontage onto the tranquil Broadwater Lake, all of which must be heaven in the summer months.
If this is your dream home, it’s on the market right now for £799,950.
