1920s modernism: Five-bedroom property in Uccle, Belgium
No mention of an architect’s name here, but this 1920s modernist property in Uccle, Belgium is still one to check out.
Amazingly, this place dates back to 1929 and as you can imagine, was probably quite a statement back in the day. Even now, this is an incredibly contemporary design.
Of course, that is in part down to the updating within. But even taking that into account, this house really has stood the test of time over the decades.
The rather low key exterior is certainly very ‘now’. The inside perhaps even more so, albeit with some modernist / deco touches along the way.
Check out those white gallery areas with pillars and railings, the wall of glazing in the reception area, that stunning kitchen area, the double height (and more) living areas, the gym and of course the roof terrace space.
Yes, much of this house has been modernised and updated and quite likely, fairly recently too. But that takes nothing away from the impact of this building.
You get around 550 sq. metres of living space over several floors, with one or two surprises thrown in along the way.
The ground floor has an entrance hall, a one-car garage, that gym and an office, as well as access to an outdoor yard and a library.
On the first floor is a living / dining room with balcony / outdoor courtyard access, that striking kitchen and a lounge / mezzanine office space. On the second floor is the master suite with marble bathroom and dressing area and three more bedrooms, two with bathrooms.
A third floor offers a further / separate apartment with living room, kitchen, sleeping area and bathroom. You also get access to the sizeable roof terrace too.
If all of that appeals, check out the website for more photos and access to more details from the agent. But you will need around €2,950,000 to secure the place.
