Not that we are pretending it is cheap. Far from it. This place is well out of our own league. But compared to other Huf Haus builds we have featured in the recent past, this is certainly on the more affordable side.
That is likely to be down to this place not being in the south east of England. However, it is one of just seven Huf Haus properties in Scotland, in its own ‘substantial’ plot and not too far away from Edinburgh. Suddenly this place sounds even more attractive.
As you probably know, this is factory-built modernism. Built in Germany to your own personal requirements, the house is then transported to your location, before being constructed by the Huf Haus team to its exacting standards. At first glance, they all look the same. But each one has been ‘tweaked’ to the original customer’s own needs, so houses are rarely copies of each other.
This one is much the same, with the glazing, beams and distinctive roof design all typical Huf Haus. But the detailing is subtly different. One other difference too, which is an adjoining ‘steading conversion’ that mixes the traditional with the modern.
As for the space within, you will find a glass entrance corridor, along with double height, open plan kitchen / dining / living room with real fire, plus a sitting room with large sliding doors, two en-suite double bedrooms with connecting balconies, two further double bedrooms with shared patios, a fifth bedroom (or study), family bathroom, utility room and WC.
Underfloor heating too, as well as ‘ultra efficient’ double glazing and built-in electric shutters.
As we said, the gardens are described as ‘substantial’, with a double carport with secure storage room, three-car driveway and gravelled / paved courtyard completing the layout.
