Looking for something contemporary in a scenic location? Look no further than the Outwood modernist property in Beaulieu, Hampshire.
That location is just off the Beaulieu River, with the use of a shared jetty, which gives you the opportunity for a spot of sailing if that’s your thing. the agent also points out that there is access to open forest for walking and riding too. So your weekends should be pretty full if you move here.
Of course, you can just sit in your house and take in the scenery too. The sits on a good-sized plot and with all that glazing, the outside of the garden and nearby woodland is pretty much inside.
The wood exterior of this place nestles effortlessly into its rural surroundings, while the interior of this place is pretty much what you would expect of a contemporary modernist build.
What this house perhaps lacks (on the photos) is some character. It looks empty or incredibly minimalist. I think the latter. So seeing what the house offers probably requires a little more imagination than usual.
What we can say is that the use offers space. A large (and premium) kitchen area, dining room and family room cover the main open plan reception, with a double-sided wood burner between the family and dining areas separating the space. There are glass sliding doors along the full length of the room leading onto the large decked terrace.
There are also five good sized bedrooms, as well as four bathrooms with (as you might have guessed) high end fittings.
We mentioned the garden, but what we haven’t flagged up is the ‘garden office’, which is in keeping with the main house and includes a kitchenette and cloakroom, as well as a large split level open plan office with large windows overlooking the greenery.
