On the market: 1960s modernist property in Highgate Village, London N6
Thanks to Stefi Orazi for this interesting find, a 1960s modernist property in Highgate Village, London N6.
According to the agent, the house dates back to 1967 and a virtual look round suggests much of its original features remain in place. Most, but not all.
The layout, the flooring, the wood panel ceilings, the large windows, the period staircase, even some of the furnishings and light fittings look pretty much untouched in almost 50 years.
But the kitchen looks new and some of the other rooms look at the very least freshly decorated, perhaps renovated. But the heart of the home remains faithful to the original 1960s layout, which will definitely be a selling point for some of you.
Also a selling point is the space. The agent describes this place as a ‘deceptively spacious family home’, laid out over three floors, with a self-contained apartment on the lower ground floor with its own conservatory and secluded garden.
The main ‘garden floor’ has over 650 sq. ft. of open plan living space with floor to ceiling windows and direct access to a walled courtyard garden. Elsewhere is a vaulted master bedroom with en-suite dressing room and bathroom, four further double bedrooms, a family bathroom and another en-suite, a kitchen with breakfast area and a utility / solarium.
Two secluded gardens in total as we mentioned, as well as off-street parking.
More images on the agent’s site and if it appeals, the asking price is £2,300,000.
