That’s right, there is yet another book on brutalist architecture coming your way. That book is This Brutal World by Peter Chadwick, which is published by Phaidon.

A 224-page hardback publication (with 320 colour illustrations within), it is described as a ‘curated collection of some of the most powerful and awe-inspiring Brutalist architecture ever built’. It’s also the work (we think) of the man behind the excellent This Brutal House Twitter account, which is definitely a sign of quality as far as we are concerned.

The book is a mix of the old and the new, the obscure and the prominent. That means everything from ‘virtually unknown’ brutalist architectural treasures from across the former eastern bloc and beyond through to some of the best contemporary architects including Zaha Hadid and David Chipperfield, not to mention 20th century heavyweights such as Le Corbusier, Mies van der Rohe, Frank Lloyd Wright, Louis Kahn, Paul Rudolph and Marcel Breuer.

Sounds an interesting read and something of an overview of the subject. We will know for sure in May, but if you want to take a chance you  an pre-order now, with the book available for £29.95.
