Michael Caine’s 1960s mews home in Hyde Park, London W2
I just wish this was the same as it was ‘back in the day’, but alas Michael Caine’s 1960s mews home in Hyde Park, London W2 has undergone a complete renovation.
But there is still a talking point here. This is the house where Michael Caine lived during his heyday. This is the place where Caine would kick back after a hard day of shooting the likes of Alfie, Gambit and The Italian Job. Who wouldn’t want to drop that into the conversation?
Found on a gated mews on the Hyde Park Estate, this is one of just 12 houses in the cobbled mews. Presumably, there used to be more, as this one has been ‘knocked through’, taking in the property next door.
It has also been given a premium makeover too, everything you expect of a luxury house – which this most certainly is. Air conditioning, a Poggenpohl kitchen and Poliform bedroom furniture for example.
In terms of the space (which comes in at nearly 2,900 sq. ft.), there is a ‘generous’ entrance hall with double doors leading to the reception room and kitchen/dining room. Above that are bedroom two with a dressing area and en suite, bedroom three with en suite, and a study which can be a fifth bedroom.
Two more bedrooms are on the too floor, both en-suite as you would expect. Outside is that all-important off-street parking too.
I think you’ve guessed that it doesn’t come cheap to live our your Caine fantasy. Around £4,950,000 to be precise.
