Price drop: Broadlinks House 1960s modernist property in Broadsands, Paignton, Devon
We first featured this in 2013, but thanks to Nick Savage, we now know that Broadlinks House, a 1960s modernist property in Broadsands, Paignton, Devon, is available at a much reduced price.
The house was ommissioned in the early 1960s for ‘one of Torbay’s most successful developers’, this modernist property was designed to take advantage of the views across Broadsands Beach to Torbay with Torquay beyond and Blue Waters Drive to the left.
As we hinted at above, not a lot has changed with this hillside property since the original build, with the ’60s styling very much to the fore. Something you’ll love or hate. We love it, especially the extensive glazing and stonework, the bar area within, not to mention the wood panelling and even more of that exposed stone inside.
As for space, the house has a large entrance hall, with the ground floor offering two bedrooms and a bathroom. The first floor has a spacious L-shaped living space taking advantage of the wonderful views, a kitchen, three bedrooms and a large new bathroom. The underfloor heating might be useful in the winter months too.
Outside there is a big garage to the front with tarmac driveway to the front porch area. The rear garden is large, flanked by trees and with a sheltered sun terrace by the house.
More details on all the living space on the listing if you are interested in buying. The original price was £475,000, but you can now secure this place for around £415,000.
