On the market: 1930s art deco property in Leigh-On-Sea, Essex
Lovers of original features might want to look away now, as this 1930s art deco property in Leigh-On-Sea, Essex doesn’t look to have many.
But it has one significant selling point, which is that art deco exterior. In fact, you can add another if you like the idea of working with a blank canvas, as this place offers that too, thanks to what looks like a fairly recent renovation. As our top 50 this year showed, these modernised art deco properties definitely have their fans.
A good amount of space too, with the house currently laid out with an entrance vestibule, reception hall, cloakroom / WC, lounge, study and what’s described as a ‘contemporary’ family living / kitchen / dining space, with thew kitchen fitted with modern units and appliances, plus a ‘feature breakfast peninsular’. There’s also a great semi-circular bay overlooking the garden and a separate utility room on the ground too.
Head up the stairs with glass and steel balustrade leads to the first floor and you’ll find four double bedrooms (the master with en-suite wet room, walk in wardrobe and a Juliet balcony), along with a family bathroom with shower.
Outside space is a rear garden with paved patio, trees and plants plus a front garden with off-road parking.
If you want it, the guide price is £699,950.

It’s clear that a lot of money has been spent on this place, just a shame that whoever spent it didn’t do a little more research and choose fixtures and fittings that were more appropriate to the era of the house!
