On the market: 1960s six-bedroom detached property in Plymouth, Devon
You can’t always judge a house by its exterior. In fact, with this 1960s six-bedroom detached property in Plymouth, Devon, we hardly get a chance.
This one was spotted by Stefi Orazi and if you look at the sole outside shot, you would probably have passed it by. But when you see the interior, you can see that it definitely has a ‘wow’ factor.
According to the agent, this house, which is close to Plymbridge Woods and Dartmoor National Park, is a ‘unique and architect designed detached residence’ that is in need of ‘improvement and updating’, although it has been maintained over the years. For example, the gas central heating, uPVC double glazing and the security system are fairly recent, so it hasn’t been particularly ignored.
The inside is pure 1960s and for some, that will definitely be a draw. The wood cladding, the exposed brick, the open plan layout, the fittings, it’s all here, seemingly untouched by time. Just a shame we can’t get a good look at the exterior. But if you are looking in the area, you can always hop down there.
As for space, that includes areception hall with storage/cloak cupboards, feature staircase, circular walls and access to a study, family room, sitting room, kitchen/breakfast room, utility room/workshop, dining room and a shower room with hand basin and WC all on ground level.
On the first floor there are five further double bedrooms, with a dual-aspect master bedroom with en-suite, along with a family bathroom. Outside are gardens, parking for several cars, a large double garage and patio space.
We suspect it is worth checking out if you are in the area. Offers over £325,000 is the asking price.
