On the market: Five-bedroom contemporary modernist property in Tunbridge Wells, Kent

Not usually a fan of radically overhauled properties, but we do like this five-bedroom contemporary modernist property in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Saying that, we don’t know what it was like before the work. All we do know (thanks to the agent’s details) is that the house has been ‘completely redesigned and partly rebuilt’ in conjunction with ArchitecturALL, with the end result being what you see here.

That’s what you might refer to as something ‘retro modern’, with the house having something of a vintage Scandinavian look about it and a touch of the midcentury inside. But overall, this is very much about contemporary open plan living.

Space is an obvious selling point, with five bedrooms, four bathrooms and three reception rooms, but the finishes are push everything up a notch or two, especially the wood panels, exposed brickwork and extensive glazing, not to mention the rather cool roof terrace area. Talking of outside, as well as that terrace you get around 0.48 acres of land too.
See the full breakdown of what this place offers on the listing, then take a sharp intake of breath when you notice the asking price of £1,950,000.
