On the market: Grade II-listed Kiln Yard art deco property in East Farndon, near Market Harborough, Leicestershire
The interior might not be for everyone, but this grade II-listed Kiln Yard art deco property in East Farndon, near Market Harborough, Leicestershire is certainly a striking house.
Art deco, moderne, take your pick. What we do know is that the house is listed and is attributed to Clement Stretton. It also has a great position, with some stunning views thanks to its elevated location.
The angles and curves of the exterior are wonderful and at first glance, you might be expecting a glimpse into the past once through the front door. That’s not really the case. The agent flags up ‘a comprehensive programme of refurbishment’, which has certainly done wonders for the exterior and gardens,
Inside, as ever, it’s down to personal taste. There are period features here, such as the skirting boards, door frames, door handles, fireplaces and parquet floors. But it’s a fairly modern look overall.
As for space, that’s down as an entrance porch, reception hall, drawing room, dining room, study, inner hall, breakfast kitchen, rear lobby, utility room and cloakroom to the ground floor. On the first floor you’ll find the main bedroom with en suite shower and dressing room, two double bedrooms and a family bathroom. The second floor hosts a sitting room which could be used as a bedroom or studio/bedroom and a single bedroom.
The guide price is £645,000.

We viewed this the last time it was on the market. The most recent owners seem to have got rid of lots of the original features which is a real shame 🙁
