On the market: 1970s Henbury House in Henbury, Cheshire
Thanks to Jason Pass for letting us know about the 1970s Henbury House in Henbury, Cheshire, which is currently up for sale.
It might be your kind of thing if you like authenticity and period (mid-20th century) features, as well as a bit of hard work. That’s because this definitely needs some renovation to being it back to its best.
The ‘individual’ home, which was a high-end build back in the day, sits on 0.8 of an acre, with a design that takes full advantage of the surrounding views – balcony, roof terrace and full-length windows for example. That design has seen better days though and we do agree with the agent – it could be used as a basis for a stylish updated home that works with the striking original features, including all that lovely stonework.
As for space, the ground floor has an an entrance hall with an oak spiral staircase to the first floor. There’s also also a downstairs WC and access to the double garage in ground, along with a reception room / study, an ‘extremely large’ lounge area, a split level dining area and a fitted kitchen and utility room.
Head up the first floor and you’ll find a master bedroom suite with access to the balcony and en-suite, three further bedrooms and a bathroom. Outside you’ll find that large plot and gardens, a large driveway and the previously mentioned garage space. All of that around two hours from London, if you need access to the capital regularly.
Offers in excess if £595,000 if you are interested.
