On the market: One-bedroom art deco apartment in West Hobart, Tasmania, Australia
As the UK property market seems to have ground to a halt for the festive season, we’re having to dig deeper and look further for interesting properties right now. That’s how we encountered this one-bedroom art deco apartment in West Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
At first we were unsure whether this was an original period art deco building or something of a new build inspired by that era. We think it’s the former, purely because the agent describes it as being ‘comprehensively refurbished’. Not sure that would be appropriate in a new build.
The result of that work is the expected mix of old and new, with (from what we can see) a reasonable amount of the character preserved in the very clean and plain finish. The outside is impressive too, although it looks like a lot of work has been done to the back that doesn’t look quite so period.
Anyway, the one for sale is one of five in this ’boutique block’, with around 72 sq. metres of space. That is laid out as a king size master bedroom with ‘generous built ins’, an open plan kitchen-living-dining area with brand new kitchen and European stainless steel appliances, a ‘beautifully renovated’ bathroom and Euro laundry. There’s also a secure lock up garage with auto doors thrown in too.
If that appeals (and you are looking in the area) contact the agent, as this is price on application.
