On the market: Two-bedroom apartment in the 1930s H J Mark-designed art deco Capel Gardens in Pinner, Middlesex
Art deco fans might want to check out this two-bedroom apartment in the 1930s H J Mark-designed Capel Gardens in Pinner, Middlesex.
Designed by local architect Mark back in 1936, built by the Courtenay Property Company Limited. Like its partner, Pinner Court, Capel Gardens is a brick-built structure rendered white and with three levels, featuring two and three bedroom apartments. The one for sale here being one of the former.
The one for sale is on the ground floor, so sadly you don’t get one of the cool balconies offered with the higher apartments. You do get the original Crittall windows though, along with what looks like the original fireplace (now with gas fire), communal parking and communal gardens.
As you can see from the shots, the inside has largely been modernised, which is either a selling point or a detriment, depending on which way you look at it. As for space, there is a communal entrance, leading to your own front door and entrance hallway. That leads to a front-aspect lounge, a modern fitted kitchen with door to the communal gardens, two double bedrooms and a modern bathroom.
The asking price is £255,000.
