On the market: Robin Crane-designed contemporary modernist property in Esher, Surrey
Something modern and very striking, this Robin Crane-designed contemporary modernist property in Esher, Surrey.
An interesting design, the work of Robin Crane of Crane Associates and found in a private plot which is apparently ‘orientated to capture the very best of our seasons’ – warm and bright in the winter, cool and well ventilated in the summer. Although you’ll probably have to live in it for a year to prove that right or wrong!
This distinctive build looks almost modular from the outside, although the imagery on the inside shows a house that flows like any other property. It’s also said to use ‘carefully selected natural materials’ in its construction, with the wood cladding on the outside being the most obvious example.
Inside, everything looked incredibly clean and bright (almost clinically so), with space including five bedrooms, four bathrooms and three reception rooms, along with the spacious (and very high end) kitchen, plus what looks like a rather spacious hallway – including that wonderful staircase.
The outside comes in via the folding doors at the rear, with the outside space including what seems to be a predominantly lawned garden, with a garage built into the main building.
Go see the bank manager if you want this, it is on the market for £2,500,000.
