Not sure it is the ‘modernist’s dream’ that the agent claims it is, but this 1970s architect-designed four-bedroom property in Nailsea, North Somerset is still an interesting property.

Designed and self built by the (unnamed) architect in question, it has an exterior that you wouldn’t necessarily get too excited about on the face of it, but the inside is a different story. Largely unchanged, with plenty of original period character and an impressive feature spiral staircase.

Enter into the hallway, with plenty of light from the floor to ceiling windows, which offers access to a home office and ground floor cloakroom. There is also access to the large open plan living space, which is divided between a sitting room, again with floor to ceiling windows, and a dining area (with same), divided by that spiral staircase to the first floor. A good sized kitchen breakfast room and utility area completes the ground floor.

On the first floor there are four double bedrooms, the master with en-suite bathroom, plus a family shower room. Outside the rear garden is a good size , with a courtyard area at the rear of the house and a detached double garage to the right at the front of the property.

It needs some work to get it back to its best I’d say, but definitely has potential. The price is £370,000.
