When I was a child, my knowledge of the mews house was pretty much what I saw in vintage crime dramas on TV. They were nothing like this Conran and Partners-designed modernist mews house in Maida Vale, London W9.
That’s because this is a much later incarnation of such a dwelling. This modernist interpretation, located on a cobbled street, is arranged over two floors, with Conran and Partners responsible for both the architecture and the interior design.
Large windows and a clean frontage are matched by an equally clean interior with sharp angled ceilings, offering two bedrooms, a large reception area, an open plan kitchen and an en-suite to the master bedroom. You also get your own ‘spacious’ private garage, which is probably a significant selling point.
There isn’t too much more to say about this place really – the images say it so much better. Oh yes, there is the small matter of the price. It might not be the biggest of houses, but you’ll still need to find something in the region of £895,000 to secure this particular mews house.
