On the market: 1960s midcentury modern four-bedroom property in Kensworth, near Dunstable, Bedfordshire
Big thanks to Ed, who sent us two properties from a similar area. One sold fairly quickly, but this 1960s midcentury modern four-bedroom property in Kensworth, near Dunstable, Bedfordshire is still available.
Details on this place are very limited – we’re even guessing the era, but we suspect that’s a safe guess. What we do know is that it was built by the current owners, which perhaps accounts for the originality that’s still present. However, it is perhaps a little dated and cluttered, so work might be required.
On the flipside, the originality, the wooden ceilings, the parquet flooring and the presence of some period fittings should be a big selling point here, should you love the look and the era. It also stands on a one-acre plot, so plenty of land for your money too.
In terms of what you get for your money, well, head up the sweeping drive and into the house and you’ll be greeted by the hallway with that parquet flooring, plus a wood and brick built staircase leading to the first floor. But staying downstairs, you’ll find a large lounge and ‘sunny’ conservatory with garden views, an open plan kitchen diner and a separate utility room. Also on the ground floor are two bedrooms, one of which is used as a sitting room and a shower room.
Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and a family bathroom, both bedrooms taking advantage of the views. Head outside and you’ll find a double garage and an outside WC, a landscaped garden with pond feature, a vegetable garden plus a further detached single garage currently used for storage.
Work needed, but plenty to work with, that’s for sure. £645,000 is the asking price.
