On the market: Five-bedroom Huf Haus in Chilworth, Hampshire
Fans of the ‘Huf’ will no doubt appreciate this five-bedroom Huf Haus in Chilworth, Hampshire.
Sat within a gated development of ‘similar cutting edge homes’, this 2007 build is a typical example of the contemporary modernism that Huf Haus is known for. But like all the houses, with its own little twist – each is built to the owner’s specification and of course, suited to the land it was being built on.
This timber-framed house is set out over three floors and of course, with open plan being the name of the game to maximise the space and light. It’s also cutting edge in facilities too, with under floor heating and ‘intelligent’ wiring for a home cinema system, TV, audio and security system for example.
In terms of space, the open plan ground floor area includes a dining space, which has sliding glass doors to a covered terrace and balcony, a study which has a door to the side garden plus a ‘well equipped’ kitchen with black lacquer units, granite work surfaces and a glass breakfast bar.
From the inner hall, stairs lead down to the lower ground floor, including two double bedrooms (both with garden access), a fitted white family bathroom, a cinema/family room and a plant/utility room.
On the first floor there is the principal bedroom, which overlooks the terraced garden. A door leads to a balcony which can accommodate a table and chairs, and the large en-suite includes a bath, walk-in shower cubicle, low level WC and twin hand wash basins. There’s also a guest bedroom with balcony, a spare room (bedroom or dressing room) and a further bathroom.
Outside, you’ll find electric gates, a private drive, lawns on either side, parking space, a double garage and the main gardens. There is also a terrace for ‘outside entertaining’, which features a contemporary water fountain and bamboo planting.
Not cheap, as you probably guessed – £1,400,000 is the asking price.
