Modernist doll’s houses by Manhattan Dollhouse
Just got back from New York (honeymoon, hence why so few updates of late). Anyway, we didn’t do much house spotting, but we did spot some interesting modernist architecture in miniature – this modernist doll’s house by Manhattan Dollhouse.
We actually spotted the one pictured here at toy store FAO Schwarz, where it was sold complete and with electric power (at least, it has switches for that). The dust on the staircase suggested it was an ex-display item, selling for $599, down from $800.
You can get that one (known as the Edward) complete and ‘as seen’ at the New York store, but a quick online search shows that Manhattan Dollhouse does another kit house for fans of modern homes.
The one below is called Emerson and offers up six rooms, as well as some sliding doors, not to mention solar panels for LED lights. If that’s not enough, there’s also a furniture range for it too, so you can fill your modern house with some modern design.
Check out this link for step-by-step guides on how to build the house and if you fancy giving it a go, the house kit sells for $345 and the furniture kit is yours for $280.
