Your dream house in Lego: Ludwig Mies van der Rohe-designed Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois
We feature some pretty swanky houses on these pages, but if you are anything like us, you probably can’t afford a good number of them. Unless you go for miniature versions of dream homes. Like this Ludwig Mies van der Rohe-designed Farnsworth House in Plano, Illinois…in Lego.
This is taken from a series of Lego architectural gems, which also includes the likes of Fallingwater and Robie House, as well some non-residential icons. You can see them all here.
But let’s focus on this one. As the title says, this modernist icon was designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and dates to between 1945 and 1951. It’s a single-storey / one-room property that’s a steel stricture with floor-to-ceiling glass walls which bring the outside (all 60 acres of it) in.
The Lego version is around 25cm wide on a base with a printed name label, sold with a booklet with facts about the building, its construction and history. If you want it, £54.99 is the price.
