On the market: 1960s Eric Lyons-designed Span House on the Brackley estate, Weybridge, Surrey
We have featured the odd Span house before, but this 1960s Eric Lyons-designed Span House on the Brackley estate, Weybridge, Surrey certainly has one of the more high end finishes.
It dates back to 1965, one of around 40 similar properties, designed to offer cutting edge modernist design that was affordable to the masses. These days, the houses aren’t quite as affordable, especially in the better areas and if they’ve been renovated.
This one ticks both of those boxes, sat in a private park land setting and with a half hour commute to London. The outside is still faithful to the original Lyons design, as is much of the internal layout, so expect plenty of light when you walk through the door. But this is more ‘contemporary’ than ‘retro’ when it comes to the fittings.
In terms of the layout, the house offers up an entrance hall, cloakroom, dual-aspect dining room, kitchen and study downstairs, with a galleried landing, three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. Outside, you’ll find gardens to the front and back, as well as a garage.
A nice place, although at £499,950, not exactly the most spacious for your cash. More images on the site.
