On the market: Three bedroom 1930s art deco house in Birstall, Leicester
Something more affordable on the art deco front – this three bedroom 1930s art deco house in Birstall, Leicester.
I think it’s fair to say that the house needs some updating. It perhaps needs some period character putting back in too, windows for a start. But the distinctive shape is still intact and the basics are in place. Central heating, good kitchen and bathroom for example, are all here.
Described as ‘individually designed’, the house offers up a porch, hallway, lounge with full width semi circular bay window, sitting room, dining room, kitchen, utility/storage room, three bedrooms, bathroom and a separate WC. Outside, you’ll find a garage and gardens to three sides.
As we said, it does need a bit of work in terms of interior and finishing, but the foundations for a great period house are certainly there. The asking price is £279,950.

Dear Sir,
I wonder if you could tell me if this house was built by John C W Ltd. I am interested to know because my father built these type of houses in the 1930`s. He particually built art deco style so that would not surprise me if this was one of his.
Kind regards
