If you don’t know New Ash Green (and we certainly aren’t too familiar with it), the village is apparently a ‘a remarkable, and largely undiscovered, village’ in the Kent countryside that was pretty much all built in the late 1960s and early 1970s. In fact around 50 per cent of all the houses in the village were built by Span.

It isn’t totally isolated though, with good access to train services to London as well as the motorway network. If you want to stay local, the village has all the usual amenities, such as a bank, a small supermarket, library and a doctor’s surgery for example, plus the green communal spaces Span developments are known for.

As for this particular house, it certainly has originality on its side. The exterior looks unchanged while the interior retains many of Eric Lyons’ original fittings, right down to the wooden units in the kitchen. That’s something you rarely see.
