It has an interesting past too. The house was commissioned by Jean Newlove, a noted choreographer in her own right and the mother of Kirsty MacColl. In fact, according to the agent, the singer / songwriter grew up in this house and composed a number of songs here. Now that’s something interesting to drop in at a dinner party.

But this house is a star in its own right. Dating back to 1965, it looks, on the face of it, pretty much unchanged, not least with its butterfly roof, floor-to-ceiling glazing, exposed brick walls and wood panelling, along with the cedar cladding which covers the exterior walls. But look closely and you’ll see this is also very much the contemporary home too, with inset lighting, modern kitchen and bathroom and plain walls contrasting the brick feature walls. he best of both worlds.

A decent amount of space too, although not laid out as you would imagine. The ground floor living areas are above the bedrooms. There are three bedrooms and a bathroom on the ground floor, with the upper floor offering a reception room, kitchen / breakfast room, reception room, sitting room and second bathroom. It also sits in an acre of space, including a short driveway and small garden at the front, along with a larger garden, a pond and open woodland at the rear.

£750,000 is the asking price, with a viewing day on Saturday 22nd March 2014.
