You may recall that we featured a holiday let of one of these a while back. If you didn’t fancy sharing, you can now get a ground floor apartment in the 1930s art deco Manor Road Garage in East Preston, West Sussex.
As you may recall, the Manor Road Garage and its four petrol pumps picked up grade II listing status back in 2007, with the art deco building dating from around 1934, operating as a working garage until 1973. In more recent times, the classic pumps have been saved, with the building converted into apartments that are just a 10-minute stroll from the beach – so ideal holiday home material if you have the cash.
We also noted the blandness of the interior in the past, with nothing in this latest example changing our view. It’s the definition of ‘blank canvas’.
As for space, you get two bedrooms, an en-suite bathroom, shower room, a large living and dining room, a glass curved wall concealing a kitchen and a south-facing terrace. Views of those pumps too, which is a likely selling point.
£285,000 is the price.
