This is one of those houses that leaves you wanting more. There are some images of this 1970s modernist-inspired three bedroom house in Benllech, Anglesey, North Wales online, but not enough for me.
It’s fascinating both for the individual design, the location and the fact that the house, from what the photos show, looks hardly changed since it was first built in 1970. It’s an opportunity for someone, especially if you want a place by the sea. It was featured in magazines when first built too, so obviously a significant build of the time.
It seems surprisingly spacious too, with a ground floor offering up a reception hall, cloakroom, a living/dining room with sea views (and views of the mountains), a kitchen with white and grey ‘Cathedral’ style units and a utility room.
Take the hallway to the ‘bedroom wing’ and you’ll find the master bedroom suite with dressing room, two further bedrooms and a bathroom. Head up to the first floor, cross the landing and you’ll find a lounge with ‘magnificent panoramic view’s across the sea to the Great Orme and mountain range. Outside, there is a tarmac garage, a large integral garage, mature gardens and a patio. Yes, there’s the holiday homes below, but you are separated from those.
It’s the perfect project if you want am interesting holiday home in Wales, as well as being big enough to be a permanent dwelling too. £250,000 is the asking price.
